16 Dec Discover Oman through Leica lens

The oldest independent state in the Arab world, Oman is overall a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing place with gentle and friendly people. Discover Oman through Yasuhisa Ishii’s Leica M Monochrom (Typ 246) and Leica SL with Noctilux 0.95 lenses. This unorthodox photographer from Japan shows us a different side of Oman.

A medical doctor by profession, Yasuhisa discovered his passion in photography in 2009 with a Leica M8. From a hobby to mastering the art of using a camera to create wonderful works of art, this man has taken a different path to explore his passion. After having his works evaluated by acclaimed Leica photographers, Yasuhisa with the support of Leica Camera Japan officially made his photographer debut in 2015.

Inspired and living by a motto to understand others, Yasuhisa believes that he can be better once he understands another person. Our world is the home for people of various cultures, customs, beliefs and roles, although the advancement of technology has brought us closer, invisible walls are formed. We often categorize and judge others by history, nationality, skin colour, religion, language, and fail to realize that we are indeed one species that are living on the same planet. Get a glimpse of Muslims in Oman and understand them better through this curious photographer’s lens.

Be amazed with the works of Yasuhisa and the versatility of the Leica SL in these light and monochrome images. You can also visit Leica Store Malaysia at Avenue K and admire all of Yasuhisa’s works. Exhibition will be held for three months from 1 December 2016.
